Codfish Croquettes (Bolinho de Bacalhau)

They’re right when they say that "food for thought" is anything that provides mental stimulus for thinking… So here we are! When I’m far away from those I love, I work on bringing them close to me by surrounding myself with positive people and triggers of good memories that I soon can and want to recreate ASAP. So as I promised earlier to my dear sister Patricia, and my coolest brother-in-law Marcelo, I present you with my own “bolinho de bacalhau,” a.k.a codfish balls, codfish croquettes, and why not, codfish cakes… Whatever floats your boat!!! Since at this very moment I can’t join you guys at Cabo Frio, a kiosk at Camboinhas’ Beach, Escondinho Bar, or any good old traditional botequim (snack bar, coffee house), all that I can do is tease you with my very own evening creation... LOL!!! And guess what? It tastes delicious!!! Delicioso! Eat your heart out! LOL!!! Essa vai especialmente para vocês, Patricia e Marcelo. I love you guys! Forever and ever!!! :)

XOXOXO,
Cheers!

He-Man's Banana (a.k.a Banana do He-Man)

Yes, I’m very familiar with the sands of South Beach, Key West, Bahamas, and the list goes on… And don’t get me wrong, I love it, I love it, I love it…

But have you ever been to Cabo Frio? It leaves nothing to be desired… And if you were ever ashamed or had any doubts about sitting on a huge banana, think again… He-Man’s banana (Banana do He-Man) awaits you!!! It’s safe, huge, and strong… So, fear no more! As I already mentioned, my family and I spent a day in Cabo Frio this month, not nearly enough time considering all the things that I wanted to do. But between cramming all the shopping at Gamboa (Bikini Street), beach hopping, enjoying awesome fresh seafood, and getting toasted on caipirinhas, we met a very friendly bunch at Forte Beach (Praia do Forte) managing what it seemed to be a very fun ride, the He-Man’s banana boat. The fun was definitely on, and between water splashing, children laughing, and my aunt screaming in the midst of fear, excitement, and let’s say, capirinhas, we had a blast! Thanks to She-Ra, super nice and personally managing He-Man’s banana :-), we were able to get back on, again, and again… So if you’re ever in Cabo Frio, don’t forget to visit the He-Man’s banana (Banana do He-Man). You might slip here and there, but you won’t regret it.

XOXOXO,
Cheers!

Cabo Frio is not a place, it’s a feeling!

I had the opportunity to see “my Cabo Frio” again this month of April. What a feeling! I can honestly say: "I Love Cabo Frio!" If you never heard of it, Cabo Frio is one of the best spots in the Região dos Lagos (Lakes Region) located in Rio de Janeiro. The amazing sea, the soft white sand, spectacular dunes, the wind… Everything is just an invitation to live life to the fullest… And let’s not forget Gamboa street, the famous Bikini Street (Rua dos Bikinis), offering great shops, awesome bathing suits, and everything else to make your beach experience the most fashionable and enjoyable one. There’s nothing like walking along the Forte Beach (Praia do Forte), or chilling at one of the many kiosks at Peró Beach, savoring succulent seafood and drinking an authentic caipirinha, why not? CB is trully paradisiacal... It's heaven on earth!

XOXOXO,
Cheers!
